If you’re ever in search of a hype man, Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick series, should rank right near the top of the list. Stahelski, alongside star Keanu Reeves, has created a movie series so popular that fans never want to see it end.
Fortunately, after it appeared the John Wick storyline was wrapped up following its fourth installment, that proved not to be the case. Stahelski and Reeves are slated to team up for John Wick 5, and after hearing the director’s plan for the film, fans couldn’t contain their excitement.
“The saga of John Wick was pretty wrapped up,” he admits to Empire. “So the only way to do a 5 is to have a new story that involves John Wick. It’s not a continuation, with the High Table. John dealt with his grief. It will be really different, and everybody [will] see the trailer and go, ‘Holy f***… I gotta see that.’” Of course we will – it’s a John Wick movie.”
It’s not easy to hype up a movie that doesn’t have a release date, let alone one that hasn’t even nailed down its plot yet. However, Stahelski’s excitement for what John Wick 5 could bring is exciting, and fans echoed that sentiment.
“Yes!! So excited to see where the next story goes in this amazing franchise!” wrote one fan on Instagram.

Although John Wick 5 is likely to come out in 2027, realistically, fans have plenty to look forward to with the next Stahelski-Reeves release.
